The Nomvula team consist of seasoned investment practitioners with over 100 years of joint investment experience. The team is passionate to ensure that the current skill in the team will be transferred to young investment professionals and therefore all the team members have a young team member who is mentored.
Olga holds a BCom Honours degree in Investment Management from the Rand Afrikaans University (currently the University of Johannesburg) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Ethics from the University of Stellenbosch. She lectured part-time in the same department during 1995, facilitating an honours course on Currency Management.
She was previously Group Treasurer at Remgro (JSE symbol REM). Olga spent 23 years at Remgro. Here she was involved in many corporate finance transactions such as the initial stages of Richemont (JSE symbol CFR), the start of Vodacom (JSE symbol VOD) and when it was sold again. She passed all FSB prescribed regulatory exams as well as the Registered Persons Exams from the Institute for Financial Markets.
Antonie holds a PhD in Theoretical/Mathematical Physics from the University of the Witwatersrand (SA) where Quantum Chaos Theory was his field of interest. With more than 22 years’ experience as a quantitative analyst in the South African and African financial and derivatives markets, he’s a renowned expert in financial mathematics, modelling and training.
Antonie is a financial derivatives pricing and model validation expert. The span of his derivative and investment experience includes capital, interest rate, credit, foreign exchange, commodity (hard and soft) and equity markets. He passed all FSB prescribed regulatory exams.
With his one foot firmly within academia, he bridges the gap between academic research and the practicalities of the trading floor and risk management within trading houses.
Welma holds a B Com Honors degree from the University of Pretoria and RE1 and RE 5 Regulatory Exam. With more than 25 years of experience in the investment and business landscape of South Africa Welma is passionate about the investment space and has been involved in different investment vehicles with a combined value of more than R20 Billion in assets.
Rene holds a BA Law degree from the University of Stellenbosch as well as a National Certificate in Wealth Management and wrote all the required regulatory exams. Rene is a seasoned entrepreneur who has experience across various sectors.
Mxolisi has an MBA (GIBS) and a B Com (Wits) and has in excess of 14 years of experience in financial services and consulting. He has been a businessman for over 7 years, having participated in a number of consulting companies, and a specialist forensic auditing company.
Over the years, he has also gained skills and vast experience in executive roles, heading up finance and risk at Trilinear Group as CFO, and other various companies, including an aviation company. He has extensive experience in financial and business administration, risk management and has managed portfolios in excess of R4 Billion in financial assets for Standard Bank Africa, in over 6 Southern African countries, and has participated in the most influential development projects in Zambia.
As co-founder of Caligraph, he is primarily responsible for overall execution and general business administration.
